Beginners Pattern Making - Skirts
Learn the fundamentals of pattern making over six weeks.
In this series of classes, you will learn to draft a straight skirt and then use this to develop a variety of skirt modifications. You will first learn to take correct body measurements and draft a skirt block. You will cut this out in calico and pin together (or sew at home) and have a fit session with the tutor. Once the fit is finalised you will begin your skirt modifications including creating flare, tapering and adding design lines. Pattern making methods including slashing, adding seam allowances and notches will be covered. Learn lots of techniques all based on the one skirt style that is made to fit you!
